In the path to “build back better” we need to bend the curve of inequality and injustice and embed a human rights-based approach to a healthy environment. We must work together to ensure that the new era of biodiversity conservation can deliver for the right of nature, for the rights of women and for the whole of society.

CBD COP 15 is set to adopt the post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework, has been rescheduled for early 2021.
In the meantime, virtual discussions, consultations and to some extent negotiations are ongoing; the particular ways that these dialogues continue are incredibly important.
This article highlights three concerns regarding procedural and substantive developments within the CBD process.
