For a Greener World
Kingshuk Chakravarty – INDIA
The women of a rural poor tribal family sit at the backdrop of their mudhouse, skillfully making biodegradable organic utensils from leaves. They share part of the responsibility with men in earning a livelihood while taking care of infants. The skills are transferred generation-to-generation like a rippling flow of a river. When plastic usage is on the rise, these women unknowingly make a big contribution towards a sustainable future.
I am a passionate documentary photographer. I believe that documentary photography is all about connecting with the people. To me it’s all about the people, candid moments and wonders of life. The essence of their culture, traditions, struggles, way-of-living and the surrounding environment set my scene. Professionally, I am a researcher cum computer engineer in the computational neuroscience domain.
