Women Caucus – UN CBD (Nairobi, Kenya, 21-26 June 2022)
The Open-ended Working Group on the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework held its third meeting in two parts. The first part was held virtually from 23 August to 3 September 2021. The second part was held in a hybrid format in Geneva, Switzerland, from 14 to 29 March 2022 in conjunction and concurrently with the resumed sessions of the twenty-fourth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice and of the third meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Implementation. At its third meeting, the Working Group, in its recommendation 3/3,1 decided to convene a fourth meeting from 21 to 26 June 2022, in Nairobi.
The Working Group further decided that the fourth meeting would continue negotiations on the post-2020 global biodiversity framework and on digital sequence information on genetic resources, building on the work of its third meeting, and the intersessional work of the informal advisory group on digital sequence information on genetic resources, taking into account also the relevant outcomes of the third meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Implementation and the twenty-fourth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice, and drawing upon relevant intersessional work, to produce the final draft of the framework for consideration by the Conference of the Parties at part II of its fifteenth meeting.
The Women’s Caucus -UNCBD text proposals outlined in this document have been in response to (CBD/WG2020/3/7) for WG2020-4 and incorporates recommendations from a) the preliminary reflections and views on the first draft of the CBD Post-2020 global biodiversity framework published on 15 July 2021, presented for the consideration of Parties during the Part 1 of the OEWG-3 that took place from 23 August – 3 September, 2021. b) Review of the Geneva meetings and c) virtual workshop held on 2 June 2022.

Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) organized a webinar on the outcomes of the third meeting (WG2020-3) and preparations for the fourth meeting of the Working Group (WG2020-4) on 7 and 8 June, 2020.
